I hate mediocrity esp since it is being taught in public schools.

For example. Ask the smartest kids in a class how often they have to help the slower ones.
All the time. Because they want to make sure every kid is just as smart as the others. No being special now! Ya hear!!! Lousy public education taking our tax dollars and using it to screw up our kids.

We had a manager tell us that our pay would be based on the average pay of all the other hotels in the immediate area. Someone asked him if he meant average pay for average help?

Buzz word !! how about ' moving forward" I can't help but laugh or stifle a laugh when I get patronised with....moving forward...certainly up there with "best practice"

I had a manager who ALWAYS pronounced and spelled the word "Mediocrisy." I loved how he was always proving his own point!

The phrase "best practices" is one of the most recent of a series of buzz words to infect public education. Unfortunately, the College Board is beginning to adopt it in an effort to make our universities as effective as our public schools (sarcasm intended).
